New River Train Excursions
Since 1968, the annual New River Train excursions through the scenic New River Gorge during the height of Fall colors has attracted thousand of riders each year.
Four scenic train trips take place each year, during two weekends in mid October. But the New River Train is more than just a train ride for viewing the brightly colored autumn leaves along the West Virginia hillsides. Riding the New River Train affords its passengers a unique perspective of the world renown New River Gorge available only via rail travel.
